BTS Reclaims the Top Spot on The Billboard Artist 100 Chart, With The Release of “Proof”!

Due to Proof’s successful debut week, BTS jumps from No. 50 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated June 25). This marks the return of the South Korean superstars as the top musical artist in the United States for a total of 21 weeks.

With 314,000 equivalent album units sold in the U.S. for the week ending June 16, according to Luminate, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The act adds its sixth No. 1 as the collection opens with the group’s highest album-earning week of the year in terms of both units earned and album sales (266,000 sold). Harry Styles’ Harry’s House album’s first frame was the only bigger week in 2022. (521,000 units, of which 330,000 were in album sales; June 4).

“Yet to Come” and “Run BTS,” two singles from Proof that BTS simultaneously debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at Nos. 13 and 73, respectively. The additions bring BTS’ career total of Hot 100 charting entries to 25.

With its 21st week at the top of the Artist 100, BTS surpasses Adele for the fourth-most weeks spent at the top among all acts and continues to set records for duos/groups. With 50 weeks in charge, Taylor Swift is in the first place, followed by Drake (36) and The Weeknd (28).

With a combination of album and track sales, radio airplay, and streaming, The Artist 100 tracks artist activity across important indicators of music consumption to produce a weekly multi-dimensional rating of artist popularity.
