Christopher Julius Rock (born February 7, 1965) is a stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, television producer, and film director from the United States of America.
Rockrose to recognition in the early 1990s as a cast member of Saturday Night Live after working as a stand-up comedian and playing supporting film parts. Since 2001, he has been in numerous films, including Down to Earth, Head of State, and The Longest Yard in addition to the Madagascar series (which ran from 2005 to 2012). He has also appeared in Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, and Top Five, as well as several stand-up specials for HBO. Everyone Hates Chris (2005–2009), a comedy based on his early life, was his brainchild. Christopher Julius Rock was born on February 7, 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina. After a brief stay in Manhattan, Rock and his family moved to Brooklyn, where they eventually made their home in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
