What Happened in Season 1 of Clarice?
At the end of season one, Clarice Starling ( Rebecca Breeds ) exposed and punished the actual perpetrators of the intricate plan, Nils Hagen ( Peter McRobbie ) and his son, Tyson Conway ( Douglas Smith ), in her quest for personal justice. Clarice was a ruthless killer, however, she wasn’t unique in that regard. The violence and terror Clarice unleashed were only matched by Hagen’s terrible demands, which were as twisted as those of Buffalo Bill and the other bloodthirsty killers in Hannibal’s world. While solving the River Murders case, Starling learned painful memories and facts about her family that she had suppressed since childhood.
In episode 12, Father Time, Clarice resigned from the FBI and was pursued at home by Tyson Conway, who had been told to abduct Starling by his father. Meanwhile, Hagen’s business, Alastor Pharmaceuticals, was scrutinized by the FBI’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Program (ViCAP). When the chambermaid Clarice was found, they discovered that she had been assaulted and frightened. The pieces of precious jewelry that Clarice’s father had given her were discovered in their apartment, which Ardelia Mapp recognized as a sign that she had been kidnapped. Tomas Esquivel (Lucca De Oliveira) utilized unlawful strongarm tactics to discover an animal rendering plant belonging to Alastor, and the ViCAP was dispatched to help Starling.
Meanwhile, Clarice was witness to Hagen’s son being subjected to ritualistic torture intended to demonstrate his loyalty, and she discovered the sordid details of why Hagen had been kidnapping pregnant women from Mexico and murdering them in the United States. Instead, Clarice manipulated the father and son against one another, resulting in Conway murdering Hagen before committing suicide.
The River Murders Chemicals case was a complicated plot with several rotating components that stretched Clarice’s first season. Her encounter with Clarice also had a personal cost, as she was constantly traumatized by her previous experiences of being kidnapped and held captive. Despite Starling’s confidence that she let herself down near the end, Clarice eventually discovered the real story about the River Murders and her own identity, and prevailed in season 1’s powerful and satisfying conclusion, despite Starling’s belief that she had lost herself towards the conclusion.

What Could the Story of Clarice Season 2 Be About?
Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lecter. For legal reasons, Hannibal was never seen or mentioned on Clarice. Instead, Starling gets caught up in her residual pain over Buffalo Bill as a result of the episode. Clarice also drew on Thomas Harris’s The Silence of the Lambs as a jumping-off point to deepen Starling’s background, revealing a more detailed family existence than she revealed to Lecter.
Starling had based her self-estimate on her deceased father, whereas Clarice had repressed unpleasant memories of his misdeeds. Season 2 of Clarice will probably focus on how Starling’s unexpected self-discovery affects her future.
Even though she was an outstanding officer and detective, Clarice Brennan had a number of tense labor negotiations during her career. She worked tough with ViCAP, which she eventually earned respect and confidence from, as well as Attorney General Ruth Martin and her daughter, Catherine ( Marnee Carpenter ). Buffalo Bill’s death scarred final victim and survivor. If Clarice’s season 2 is greenlit, there will be a new mystery to solve following on from Agent Starling and ViCAP’s discovery of the season 1 storyline.

Update on the Renewal of Clarice Season 2
Despite the fact that it has not been officially canceled, Clarice will not return to CBS in the fall of 2021. It is well-known that Clarice was the network’s lowest-rated and most-watched program. On the other hand, it didn’t go so swimmingly on PlayStation 4. According to Deadline, Clarice was part of a negotiation that secured Seal Team and Evil for Paramount+’s exclusive status on May 14. However, the Silence of the Lambs follow-up wasn’t formally announced as joining the streaming service at the time. The apparent cause of this issue appears to be a financial conflict between CBS Studios/Paramount+ and MGM Studios, which co-produces Clarice.
In May, after it was reported that Amazon was in the process of acquiring MGM Studios, ending Clarice’s chances of transferring to Paramount+, MGM Studios backed away from the negotiations table. The sticking points between CBS/Paramount and MGM are said to include the former refusing to finance the program at a cheaper price, wanting a lower episode count, and the difficulty that Clarice’s Paramount+ deal prevents it from seeking an off-network streaming agreement, such as Amazon Prime or Hulu.
There have been no indications of progress in the negotiations, thus Clarice’s silence may be permanent.
