Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a fantasy film directed by David Yates, based on a screenplay by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves. It was released in 2022. It is the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts film series, and the twelfth overall in the Wizarding World franchise, following Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018).
The third Fantastic Beasts film, which was always planned to be “at least” a trilogy, was set to hit theatres in November 2020. It was finally pushed out to July 2022, and in March 2020, the majority of the principal cast from the first two films confirmed their participation. Principal photography was scheduled to begin in early 2020, but owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was postponed until September 2020.
Johnny Depp, who played Grindelwald in previous films, was supposed to return and film one scene for the film, but was asked to withdraw in November 2020 after a court case found against him on charges of domestic violence; Mikkelsen took his place later that month. Filming took place from February 2021 through February 2022.

Storyline:
Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) helps a qilin, a mystical creature that can see into one’s soul as well as the future, give birth in the Bhutanese forests in FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE.
Gellert Grindelwald’s (Mads Mikkelsen) followers, led by Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller), attack, murder the mother and steal the child, whom Grindelwald kills in order to harness its precognitive abilities. Newt and his brother Theseus (Callum Turner) are recruited by Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), who is unable to combat Grindelwald because of a blood pact. Along with Lally Hicks (Jessica Williams) and Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam), Senegalese-French magician Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam), and American No-Maj Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), the team joins forces to defeat Grindelwald’s ambition for world dominance.
Meanwhile, Grindelwald has dispatched Credence to assassinate Dumbledore before the leaders of the wizarding world convene in Bhutan, where the new Supreme Head will be chosen according to an ancient tradition of being deemed worthy by a qilin, who bows to people with pure hearts. Grindelwald manipulates the election by having the qilin bow to him through necromancy.
He launches war on all muggles right away, torturing Jacob for attempting to assassinate him. Will Albus’ band of mages and no-maj be able to stop Grindelwald’s ascension, will Credence finally discover who he is, and will Grindelwald be elected as the Supreme Head’s leader? These are just a few of the issues that will be answered in the rest of the movie.

Review
Like the last film, FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE introduces new beats and features some returning critters who are a treat to see on screen.
The latest film, like the previous two, incorporates mystical creatures into the storyline, assisting with narration and propelling the plot forward. The plot moves along at a steady pace as Grindelwald strives to seize control as the Supreme Head.
Throughout the video, audiences are taken on not just a visual but also an immersive trip as they descend once again into a mystical environment, all while answering issues that have been addressed in the previous ten films. In fact, FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE completes the circle by delving deeper into the finer points and references established in prior installments.
The picture does not become constant drivel of wizard battles and chases because of the light humor provided by Dan Fogler’s character.
When it comes to performances, the entire cast seems to have given it they’re all. From Eddie Redmayne to Jude Law to Mads Mikkelsen, each actor has excelled in their roles. The same may be said of the rest of the cast. The underutilization of Mikkelsen, who has proven throughout the years his knack for expressing an unnerving menace with a smile, is a small downer.
Though his intelligence shows through at moments, the viewer can’t help but feel that his role should have been fleshed out a little more in detail. Mikkelsen, on the other hand, does an excellent job of conveying a softer side to his somewhat brutal character when necessary. Dan Fogler, who reprises his role as no-major Jacob Kowalski, has perfect comic timing. The humorous element isn’t as strong as it was in the first picture in the series, but it still has an impact.
George Richmond, who looks into the cinematography, deserves special attention; with sweeping yet engaging views, the audience is securely set in their seats. If that wasn’t enough, audiences will be treated to spectacular sights reminiscent of those seen in the Harry Potter films, which depict enormous landscapes spanning the magical globe.
The costume design by Stuart Craig and Neil Lamont is consistent with the previous two films. In fact, the trio, together with Colleen Atwood, has done an excellent job of portraying the 1930s in terms of clothing, styling, and setting.
With its flawless VFX that makes wizarding combat look like well-choreographed sequences, FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE is a pleasant and riveting watch.
While there may be a need for more, there are enough of battles and wand-wielding shenanigans to satisfy your desire for magic. Mark While there are occasions when a sequence may be a little shorter, Day keeps it light while not missing points.
FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE is a fascinating viewing in general. In terms of aesthetics, action, adventure, and, of course, magic, the picture is a flashback to the Harry Potter series for Potter fans.
The film is a must-see for the wizard in you since it answers questions that have sparked a lot of debate. With a relatively open weekend and first week, and a large fan base for the series, FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE.
