Jurassic World Dominion is a science fiction action film directed by Colin Trevorrow and written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, based on a scenario by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, and released in 2022.
It is the follow-up to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the sixth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, the final film of the Jurassic World trilogy, and the end of the tale that began in the original Jurassic Park trilogy.
Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley produced the film, as did their predecessors, with Trevorrow and Jurassic Park (1993) director Steven Spielberg serving as executive producers.
The film was intended as part of a potential Jurassic World trilogy as early as 2014. Filming started in February 2020 but was put on hold in March owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. It began again in July and ended four months later.
Canada, England’s Pinewood Studios, and Malta were all used as filming sites. Unlike its two predecessors, Legendary Entertainment was not engaged in the film’s production because Universal discontinued its four-year agreement with the firm in 2019.
Universal Pictures is releasing Jurassic World Dominion in Mexico City on May 23, 2022. On June 10, 2022, it was released in theatres across the United States.

Storyline
Jurassic World: Dominion continues the plot of the previous two Jurassic World films, Jurassic World (2015) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).
Dr. Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum, declared the start of a neo-Jurassic Age in the Fallen Kingdom, in which humans and dinosaurs must cohabit.
Dominion takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar (the island that held Jurassic World and, nearly three decades prior, Jurassic Park). Dinosaurs now coexist with humans and hunt alongside them all over the globe.
In 2021, a five-minute prologue to the 2022 film Jurassic World Dominion (see below) was released, providing more context to the repopulation of dinosaurs over the world. It was originally an IMAX-only preview, but it was eventually distributed as a short film online.

Review
The story takes place in the neo-Jurassic Era when humans and dinosaurs must learn to coexist. Biosyn’s strange genetic mutations pose a threat to cohabitation. They release a lethal locust infestation that threatens to destabilize the natural order. Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) gather to infiltrate the private valley in the hopes of averting the ecological disaster.
In a parallel story, Jurassic Park’s new age combo, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) must travel to Biosyn in order to save Maisie, a teen with a mysterious history (Isabella Sermon). The girl has been kidnapped because she is an “important intellectual property.”
Who cares about the plot in a Jurassic franchise if you get to gawk and be terrorized by computer-generated giant extinct species? After all, it’s just a money maker. Well, plot matters and the original demonstrated how well the two can be intertwined. Even if you ignore the tale, Colin Trevorrow wastes too much time before getting to what you want from the putative conclusion – nail-biting survival action, dread, and emotional bonding.
His cramped and chaotic survival drama comes to life only in the second half, which, predictably, clones the original.
Sigh, the big three must escape the dinosaur island on a helicopter while babysitting a child, and Ellie and Alan must revive their romance.
While the jump scares and suspense aren’t up to level with the 1993 classic, a few scenes, such as the dinosaurs chasing Owen’s speeding bike and even executing parkour tricks, are breathtakingly dramatic. Jeff Goldblum’s typical sharp wisecracks are once again the highlight of what is otherwise a very predictable film.
When Steven Spielberg originally presented us with a fictional dinosaur island dubbed Jurassic Park in 1993, he set the bar too high when he showed us how a group of visitors must survive while on a tour when things go wrong. Following the original’s tremendous global success, the sole goal of the subsequent installments was to capitalize on the original’s success without having to rebuild the survival thriller series.
However, one should not cling to the original for too long, as anything that refuses to adapt or evolve faces extinction. There are some memorable moments in Jurassic World: Dominion, but they are few and far between. Instead, watch the first film again.
