Runway 34 is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Ajay Devgn and produced by him under his label Ajay Devgn FFilms, starring Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rakul Preet Singh, with Boman Irani, Angira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh playing significant roles.
On April 29, 2022, Runway 34 was released in theatres, coinciding with Eid.

Storyline
RUNWAY 34 is the narrative of a pilot who is going through a difficult time. Captain Vikrant Khanna (Ajay Devgn) is a Skyline Airlines pilot. He is in Dubai on August 16, 2015, and is scheduled to fly to Cochin the next day. Sandy, Vikrant’s friend, invites him to a nighttime party.
At first, Vikrant refuses. But eventually, he caves in. He goes to a nightclub in Dubai with a friend and drinks heavily. He arrives at his hotel around 6 a.m. and retires to his room. He gets up on time and rushes to the airport to catch a Skyline 777 flight out of Dubai. Tanya serves as his co-pilot (Rakul Preet Singh). Before the flight, both are notified that Cochin is experiencing severe rain.
When it comes time to land, Vikrant and Tanya have a terrible time. Cochin Air Traffic Control advises them to land in Trivandrum instead, where the weather is better. Regardless, Vikrant tries but fails to land. Then he travels to Trivandrum. Trivandrum’s weather had also deteriorated by this time.
The Air Traffic Control staff in Cochin did not advise Vikrant and Tanya that they should not travel to Trivandrum for any reason. It’s too late by the time Skyline 777 reaches Trivandrum and is informed of the situation by the local Air Traffic Control Team. They are unable to move because they are out of fuel. The pilots have no choice but to land at Trivandrum Airport because they have no other options.
They are advised to land on Runway 16 by the Air Traffic Control officials. Vikrant, on the other hand, insists on landing on Runway 34, which the Air Traffic Control team considers a risky maneuver. Despite this, Vikrant sticks to his strategy and successfully lands on Runway 34, but with significant difficulty.
The problems, however, are far from over. The AAIB wants to know if any rules were breached during the landing. AAIB’s Narayan Vedant (Amitabh Bachchan) pursues a personal interest in Vikrant and Tanya and decides to drill them.

Runway 34 Review
Sandeep Kelwani’s story is based on genuine events and is unique in that it deals with a turbulence-affected flight and its aftermath. In Bollywood, there has never been a film like this. The writing by Sandeep Kelwani and Aamil Keeyan Khan is quite good in the first half, especially in the aviation parts. The writing after the interval, on the other hand, could have been better and less talky. The interaction between Sandeep Kelwani and Aamil Keeyan Khan is razor-sharp. A few one-liners are sure to make people laugh.
The direction by Ajay Devgn is adequate. He gets bonus points for enthralling the audience in the first half. It has to be seen to be believed how he has retained his focus on the events in the cockpit. The intermission is well-deserved applause. The addition of Narayan Vedant in the second half adds to the intrigue. However, the courtroom drama, which should have been just as suspenseful, meanders at this point and gets too talky. However, there are a few moments that stick out. However, it is far too long.
The beginning of RUNWAY 34 is fine, showcasing how Vikrant partied the day before. As soon as the plane takes off, the movie improves. A famous scene is when Vikrant emerges from the cockpit and calms the enraged passengers. The same can be said for the intermission. Narayan Vedant’s track entry in the second half is impressive. The scenes where Vikrant takes a lie detector test and Tanya says Vikrant might have taken a drink while flying the jet stand out in the courtroom drama section.
