RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 14 Episode 13 Recap

After losing the lip-sync competition to Gorgeous after a horrible lead performance in this season’s musical, Bosco finally unwrapped the golden chocolate bar on the main stage last week and revealed what it was made of. Following the flurry of speculation as to who might have been in possession of the gold bar, we can finally put this episode behind us and go on with the rest of this (excruciatingly lengthy) season. Nevertheless, the tuba sound effect that accompanied the “it’s chocolate” comment at the close of each episode will be much missed by me.” The dolls are having a roast this week, and it’s time to see who among them is the actual comedic queen.

A gold bar from the Bosco saves the day in this week’s episode, which takes us to the workroom. As a result, Bosco is overjoyed to be still in the hunt for the title. Confessionals reveal the queens’ discontent with the choice to remove their immunity, despite their joy at getting the gold chocolate bar. At the end of their conversation, Willow and Bosco discuss how they feel about everyone addressing them by their first and last names. It’s an essential part of the game, according to Bosco, and she has no hard feelings about it. They are given permission to remove their costumes and congratulate Lady Camden on her victory.

Next morning, there are still seven females in the work room. Jorjeous is the season’s lip-sync assassin, according to the queens at the table. We’re going to have some visitors this week, says Ru as she enters into the room. For the mini-challenge, Norvina from Anastasia Beverly Hills is hosting the queens at a second location. Ru and Dolly Parton’s faces will be painted on the walls of the arena in 30 minute intervals by two groups. After a frantic half-hour of painting, the murals are undeniably complete. According to Norvina, Team Dolly (Willow, Bosco, Lady Camden, and Daya) is the champs.

A traditional roast is the subject of this week’s maxi challenge, as announced by Ru. If a team wins a mini-challenge task, they’ll be able to choose the order in which they’ll be roasted. No one on the losing side has anything to say about the final order, which is decided by the winning team. All of the students begin working on their jokes, and Willow opens up to Lady C about how nervous she is about the project at hand. It will be fascinating to see how the jokes are worked out with the comedy instructors Michelle and Dolcé Sloan because nobody’s jokes are really hitting the point at this stage of writing. There are a number of queens that don’t receive any laughs throughout their rehearsals, which is troubling. If you’re going to a roast and you don’t hear any funny jokes, that’s the worst. Everyone, understandably, is nervous about the impending conflict. Jorjeous is dejected backstage after the rehearsal, and the other queens are feeling the same way about her.

The queens are preparing for their first roast of the season as the clock ticks down to the last four. Jorgeous’ sickness hasn’t improved, and he’s unprepared for this new task. Michelle, Ross, and comedian Dulcé Sloan join Ru on stage to introduce the panel of judges for this week’s event. After Bosco’s introductory piece, the roast begins with a solid first act. Even though it was subpar at best, Jorgeous’s performance wasn’t a total failure. A lot of people laugh at Willow and Angeria. While Daya’s set and Deja’s performance are both passable, Lady Camden takes the roast to a satisfying conclusion. In keeping with this year’s runway show theme of “tutu much,” the models are decked up in ballerina-inspired lewks as they walk the runway.

The judges begin their critiques on Bosco by praising her commanding stage presence and her ability to structure her jokes. There are many praises on her ability to take notes, and the runway is a big hit. Even though she was roasted, the judges tell Jorgeous that she looks adorable on the runway. Despite a strong start to her set, Willow thinks that she can do better. She is adored by Michelle and Rusty. Michelle commended Angeria’s self-assurance and the judges praised the lime green gown she was wearing. Daya’s runway performance was appreciated by the judges, but they also believed she got a little disoriented during her roast. As a result of their displeasure with Deja’s appearance, the judges joined in on her roasting antics. The judges applauded Camden’s stand-up act and also commented on how beautiful she appears in her ballerina drag costume.

Ru has decided that Bosco is the winner of this week’s challenge after much deliberation. CELEBRATE THIS EVENT WITH A BANG! They’re all in good health, Lady Camden, Willow, and Angeria included. The following are this week’s bottom three: There is only one way to save Jorgeous, Daya Betty, and Deja Sky if they don’t hurry up: lip-syncing for their lives. To Olivia Rodrigo’s “good 4 u,” the bottom three ladies perform a lip-sync. Following an emotional performance by all three queens, Ru declares that Daya Betty will remain in the competition. So, the competition will be over for both Jorgeous and Deja Sky. The two queens leave the stage together in a sashay.
