Netflix has released the trailer for season five of The Crown. It is set to release on December 8th. This season will focus on the final years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and her preparations for handing over power to Prince Charles.

The current season of the award-winning royal drama, which chronicles the Prince’s life, has added Princess Diana and Lady Margeret Thatcher to the plot. The final scene of the fourth season of Crown features both beloved Diana and the United Kingdom’s longest-serving Prime Minister.

With so many dangling threads, viewers wanted to know if Netflix had ordered an additional season of The Crown. Fortunately, they now know, and we may all rejoice. Season 5 will see the introduction of several new cast members, including Elizabeth Debick, who will play Princess Diana.
