In response to her involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal, Ghislaine Maxwell has received a 20-year prison sentence.
A New York jury had convicted Maxwell guilty, and she received her punishment on Tuesday, some seven months later. In addition, she will serve 5 years of supervised release after being released and pay a $750k fine.
As we previously reported, Maxwell was found guilty on five of the six counts of sex trafficking that she was charged with during her trial. This included a finding of guilt on a charge of sex trafficking a juvenile.
Four women testified at her trial that Maxwell recruited and groomed youngsters for Epstein to abuse, sometimes even joining in on the abuse, when they were all under the age of 18. They also said that Maxwell engaged in sexual abuse of children while they were all under the age of 18 and Epstein was not.
