Alan Eugene Jackson (born October 17, 1958) is a singer and songwriter from the United States. He’s recognized for fusing traditional honky-tonk and mainstream country music sounds (in a style known as “neotraditional country”), as well as writing many of his own tunes. Jackson released 16 studio albums, three greatest-hits albums, two Christmas albums, and two gospel albums over his career.
Jackson is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with over 75 million recordings sold worldwide, including 44 million in the United States.

Alan Jackson, the country music icon, disclosed in an interview that he has a degenerative nerve ailment that affects his balance, but he plans to continue performing.
Jackson, 62, revealed that he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth illness a decade ago in an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show. He claimed it was a genetic issue that was affecting his capacity to walk. He claims that his ailment has no impact on his life expectancy.
He confessed to Jenna Bush Hager, “I know I’m bumbling about on stage.” “And now, even in front of the microphone, I’m having a little issue balancing, and I’m just feeling extremely uneasy.”

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, tooth disease is a group of disorders (named after the researchers who first described it) that cause damage to the peripheral nerves—nerves that help transmit information and signals from your brain and spinal cord to other parts of your body (NINDS).
People with the disease usually experience gradual muscle weakness in their teens or early adulthood, but it can begin at any age, according to the NINDS. According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition causes smaller, weaker muscles, and patients may have a loss of sensation, muscle contractions, and difficulties walking.
“CMT is a genetic condition, which means it will get worse over time,” says Amit Sachdev, MD, medical head of Michigan State University’s department of neurology. And, as Alan stated on Today, there is no cure, according to Paul Twydell, DO, a neurologist at Spectrum Health.

What does Charcot-Marie-Tooth Symptoms?
According to the Mayo Clinic, these are the most prevalent symptoms of the disease:
- Legs, ankles, and feet weakness
- Muscle mass loss in your legs and feet
- High arches on the feet
- Toes curled (hammertoes)
- Reduced running ability
- Lifting your foot at the ankle can be difficult (footdrop)
- The step that is awkward or higher than usual (gait)
- Tripping or falling on a regular basis
- Leg and foot numbness or loss of sensation
- “CMT will result in both sensory and strength difficulties,” says Dr. Sachdev. Dr. Twydell, on the other hand, claims that CMT has a “wide spectrum of severity.” “It affects some persons during childhood or adolescence. They usually have more weakness and require orthotics and other assistive devices to walk “he declares. “Others don’t get diagnosed until later in life, and they usually have a milder version.”

Early Life Of Alan
Alan Eugene Jackson was born on October 17, 1958, in Newnan, Georgia. He grew up in a house built around his grandfather’s tool shed with his mother Ruth, father Joseph (better known as Gene), and four elder sisters.
Alan grew up listening to church music until a friend exposed him to the songs of Hank Williams Jr., Gene Watson, and John Anderson. Jackson attended Elm Street Elementary and Newnan High School before joining the Dixie Steel band after graduation. Alan began writing songs in his mid-twenties and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 27 to pursue a music career. He recorded the album “New Traditional” in Hendersonville, Tennessee in 1987, and it was only published in Japan, according to reports.
