Since 1985, Julia Smith and Tony Holland have created a British soap opera, EastEnders, which has been shown on BBC One. The show is set in Albert Square in London’s East End, in the fictional borough of Walford, and chronicles the daily lives of local inhabitants and their families.
Initially, there were two 30-minute episodes per week, which were eventually increased to three, but episodes were broadcast every weekday except Wednesday from 2001 to March 2022. (outside of special occasions).
The show’s transmissions were cut to two 30-minute episodes per week after a three-month production halt in 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and the show eventually went off the air.
Due to filming restrictions, the show will resume transmission on September 7, 2020, with four 20-minute episodes per week. In February 2022, the show announced that the Friday broadcast would be discontinued, with the show airing every weekday except Friday starting on March 7, 2022, marking the first time in the show’s history that the show will air on Wednesday on a regular basis.
Within eight months of its debut, the show had risen to the top of BARB’s TV ratings and has been among the country’s most popular shows ever since. The average episode’s audience share in 2013 was around 30%. In terms of the BBC’s success and audience share, EastEnders remains a prominent programme today.
It was particularly significant in the history of British television drama because it tackled a number of topics that are considered contentious or taboo in British culture, as well as depicting a social life that was previously unrepresented on British mainstream television.
Who is Ben in Eastenders?
Ben Mitchell is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, who has been played by six different actors from his first appearance on screen on March 21, 1996. Ben’s plotlines include: a custody battle between the Mitchell and Beale families on the show; developing a love of dance and the arts, which causes friction between him and his father, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden); being physically and mentally abused by Phil’s girlfriend Stella Crawford (Sophie Thompson); struggling to come to terms with his homosexuality and then attempting to hide it before coming out; and being imprisoned for manslaughter after unintentionally killing his father (Paul Usher). Ben is planned to appear in a male rape narrative, in which he is raped by Lewis Butler (Aidan O’Callaghan), in April 2022.

Ben Mitchell Is Raped in East Enders, Which Airs Horrifying Scenes.
Ben Mitchell, a popular character on EastEnders, is set to star in a dramatic storyline involving mistaken identification on the BBC soap.
Ben, played by 27-year-old Max Bowden, has been involved in a series of terrifying fights, the most recent of which saw him violently beat a man who had hurled homophobic slurs at him and Lewis in the street, knocking him out and leaving him in a coma.
Ben has gotten himself involved in other conflicts for similar reasons, as he continues to recover from the heinous homophobic attack on his husband Callum earlier this year.
The dramatic storyline will continue next week, according to BBC spoilers, with Ben being unimpressed by Callum’s police poster.
The situation worsens when they discover it has been vandalised, leaving Ben enraged and on the hunt for vengeance.
The next day, Callum asks that they spend some time together for their wedding anniversary, but Ben avoids him because the billboard is still fresh in his memory.
Ben loses control when he sees a man, Rich, laughing at Callum’s destroyed poster.
Lewis calms Ben down and invites him out for a drink as the situation threatens to spiral out of control.
As Ben and Lewis head to The Albert, Callum confides in Mick about Ben’s current circumstances.
When Zack suggests that he can assist Callum in getting a decent bargain on Sharon’s old flat, Callum is encouraged.

Callum informs Billy and Lexi of the good news, expressing his optimism that this will be the start of a new chapter for him and Ben.
But, unfortunately for Callum, it appears that Ben has other plans, as his rage flares once more when Rich reappears to stir havoc.
When Ben leaves The Albert and thinks he sees Rich, he attacks him – only to find out it’s not the right person. Is it possible to find out who it is, and will they be safe?
This comes as EastEnders bosses are said to be planning a new storyline in which Ben is sexually attacked by a barman.
