What Is Wrong with Princess Charlene? “My Health is still Fragile, and I Don’t Want to Rush Anything,” She Said!

Charlene is the Princess Consort of Monaco and a former Olympic swimmer who was born on January 25, 1978. Albert II, the current Prince of Monaco and head of the Princely House of Grimaldi, is her husband.

Charlene Wittstock was born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), to Michael and Lynette Wittstock, and moved to South Africa with her family in 1989. She began swimming in 1996 (winning the South African Championship) and competed for South Africa at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where her team placed fifth in the 4 x 100-meter medley relay. Charlene finished her career as a professional swimmer in 2007.

In 2000, Charlene met Prince Albert at the Mare Nostrum swimming competition in Monaco.
The couple tied the knot on July 1, 2011. Princess Gabriella and Hereditary Prince Jacques were born on December 10, 2014. Princess Charlene’s charitable activity is mostly focused on sports, AIDS, and disadvantaged children. In 2012, Charlene established the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation to promote her personal philanthropic projects.

Princess Charlene of Monaco ‘almost died’ after suffering from an unknown ailment.

Charlene acquired an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infection in May 2021 while on a tour to raise awareness about rhinoceros poaching in Southern Africa. In the spring, she had a sinus lift and bone grafting surgery. Due to the illness, she had difficulty equalising pressure and was unable to fly above 20,000 feet.

She was unable to return to Monaco for a pre-scheduled engagement at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix. Princess Charlene was recommended to remain in South Africa, away from her family, after repeated treatments.

As a result, she was unable to attend her tenth wedding anniversary celebrations in June, which Charlene described as “very tough” and upsetting. She had a four-hour procedure requiring general anaesthesia in August 2021.

In September 2021, she was admitted to the hospital for the second time due to a “medical emergency” with ENT issues. Her final surgery was disclosed on October 8, 2021. She arrived in Monaco on November 8, 2021.

The palace announced on November 16, 2021, that Charlene would be resting and had cancelled all of her activities, including Monaco’s national celebrations, due to illness, particularly “deep tiredness.”

She was said to be spending her recovery time outside of Monaco. In March 2022, the palace announced that Charlene was back in Monaco with her family after a four-month stint at a Swiss clinic and that she would gradually resume her duties as her health improved.

For the first time, the princess has talked publicly about her health, noting that the road to recovery has been “long, arduous, and very painful.”

“My health is still fragile, and I don’t want to rush anything,” she told Monaco-Matin.

When she returned to Monaco, Charlene said she “focused all my energies” on her husband, Prince Albert II, and their seven-year-old twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.

“They are my priority,” she added, before dismissing rumours of an impending divorce, saying, “I am extremely delighted to be back home in Monaco and with my family.”

During her absence, the South African-born Olympic swimmer turned Monegasque princess went months without seeing her two children and was even separated from Prince Albert on their tenth wedding anniversary.

However, since returning to Monaco in early November, the royal has suffered a series of setbacks.

Charlene said in November that she would be temporarily withdrawing from public life and retreating to a hidden location to recover from her ordeal.

Weeks later, the princess is still receiving therapy, and family and friends, including the princess’ father, are only sharing limited facts about her suffering.

It’s just the latest worrying development for Charlene, who has stayed silent since returning to Monaco following months of illness.

But what ailment did Charlene have, how was it treated, and why are there so many rumours surrounding her lengthy stay in South Africa? We’ve done the legwork so you don’t have to.

Charlene’s father expresses his displeasure with Her Health

Charlene’s father, Mike Wittstock, has made a rare public comment on his daughter to the news website News24, as she remains out of the public eye while undergoing treatment.

He claimed that he was terrified of infecting her with COVID-19 if he visited her in South Africa earlier this year.

“I didn’t want to infect her either because she’s had so many medical treatments and is quite vulnerable,” he explained to the site.

He kept in touch with her over the phone, as well as with her children in Monaco, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, who are six years old.

Despite the fact that Charlene is now receiving treatment at a top-secret facility, her father is confident that she will overcome her ailments and return “stronger.”

“Based on the way she used to train,” he said of his former Olympian daughter, “I know she’s tough and will get through this and come out much stronger.”

The princess had previously been coping with problems resulting from an ear, nose, and throat infection, but Prince Albert recently told People that his wife is now suffering from “deep overall fatigue…exhaustion, both emotional and physical.”

He denied rumours that she is or was ever infected with COVID-19, and emphasised that Charlene’s withdrawal from royal life had nothing to do with the marriage rumours.

“It’s not a problem with a personal relationship. And if you want to talk about another theory, it has nothing to do with plastic surgery or facial work “He exposed his identity.
